3:31 update – The first round of the winners bracket has been resolved! In the buy-in section there were a couple upsets, but all the top seeds moved forward over upstart challengers. Onto the loser’s bracket! BB3 Winners first round 2:02 update – We’re getting ready to kick things off. Here is the official bracket! Beer Bracket 3 Original Post It’s time for the third annual(ish) Bracket is Mightier!Beer Bracket II Group Our last beer bracket was the first time we opened up the competition to outsiders, which made for a much more unpredictable and raucous event. In the end, Quinn’s Peak XV Imperial Porter triumphed over Eric’s La Folie by a photo-finish, one vote margin. The rules will be very similar this time around: a double elimination tournament judged by the participants, with everyone entering two beers. The only notable difference will be screening for biases among our judges, so that someone who hates darker beers doesn’t wind up deciding the fate of an imperial stout (this type of scenario caused some early upsets – and heartbreak – last time around). Stay tuned here for updates as the tournament gets underway at 2:00 p.m. pacific! Here are the beers:
